  • Okay, here's how I'd approach this in the first person, focusing on the challenges:

"Man, the idea of recreating the Latvian Optibet Hockey League in NHL 09 sounds awesome. Imagine, all those teams, those rivalries... it could be epic.

The problem is, where do I even begin?

Rosters: Figuring out accurate player ratings for every single guy in the league would be a nightmare. I'd need to dig deep into stats, watch tons of game footage, and probably even consult with some serious hockey fans in Latvia.

Team Logos and Jerseys: Creating authentic logos and jerseys for each team would be a huge undertaking. I'd need to find high-quality images and somehow translate them into the game's limited editing tools.

Arena Creation: NHL 09's arena editor isn't the most advanced. Recreating the unique atmospheres of each arena in the league would be a massive challenge.

Honestly, I'm a bit overwhelmed. I know it could be amazing, but I'm not sure I have the skills or the patience to pull it off. Maybe I'll just stick to playing a regular NHL season for now..."=O

  • We all started somewhere, so don't let this get to you. Why not start with the roster and change the team names first. Trust me, once you see the team name on screen, you are hooked.
I am sure there will be someone able and willing to help you along the way. I would offer to help with the roster, at least get you started with a team. And you don't have to watch all the games, the Toolbox calculates it fairly well and once you get the hang of it, you can make this work.

Get started and show the progress, trust me, people will start checking in and helping out.

It does sound like a stiff challenge, but shooting for the stars is what dreams are made of...

Of course no one can say what's best for you, as that's a question only you can answer. But that said, I would like to share this: Whenever I feel overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of a new project, I try not to think of it in its entirety. Much better to think in terms of smaller, more manageable bits. That way I can (hopefully) bypass the weight of the whole and focus instead on feeling like I can actually get a better handle on things.

Best of luck with whatever you choose to do!
