It's a bit complicated.
You have to use a jersey template to create new jerseys. I guess that some can be found in the download section.
Then you have to use certain editors to download the jerseys into the game.

Another thing I must ask about which I forgot when I wrote the previous post is the age of the players which can be seen in the game.

During the years, I've updated the rosters and cyberfaces and while doing so, i've added real birthdates and such for new players.

recently I discovered that since the leagues are supposed to take place in the 2007-08 series, the players "in-game ages" are seen as three years old and such. In a couple of years, new players will start to have in-game ages as 0, -1,-2 and so on.

Will that affect the game in some way, crashes or so? Is it a way to avoid seeing new players like Connor Bedard being labeled as one year old or so in the game?

OK, this is actually questions about NHL 08 since I still use that game but I guess that there are no such big differences between NHL 08 and NHL 09 so here we go:

Is it possible to create a new team with NHLview and be able to switch it with another team in a league? Like if I create a team which isn't in the Swedish SHL league and let it replace another existing team and then switch back the original team instead of the new team to next season?

Is it possible to create a 14-team league schedule for the Swedish SHL and create two new teams and add them to the league? Or simply move two other teams to the league and rename them?

Is it possible to find or create a more realistic schedule for AHL than the one I have in NHL 08?

Why is it no cup celebrations for winning the AHL-play off? Is it possible to create something like that?

A problem in NHL 08 is that some of the teams in the SHL and Czech League haven't any names on the jerseys due to ads on the original jerseys where the names should have been. Since I have added ads-free jerseys for those teams, it look a bit ridiculous that those teams have no player names on the jerseys. is that possible to fix? I've been trying that for years but so far I haven't managed to solve the problem.

Will this work for NHL08 as well?

My current screen with resolutions 1208x1024 has begin to show some aging problems. Small ones so far but I guess it's time to start thinking of a new screen.

The problem is that only widescreens seem to be available.

I borrowed a widescreen from a neighbor which I might buy from him if it works fine but the problem is that it doesn't.


I tested it on my Windows 7 Computer where I have a version of NHL 2004. It looked horrible on widescreen. The players looked like a bunch of fat guys skating on an ice with weird proportions.

The same problem with NHL 08 and a FIFA game I use.

Stupid as I am, I believed that it would be a way to create a square setting on the widescreen, just like when you watch an old movie or TV program on a widescreen TV, but no!

It doesn't matter which settings I try to apply to the widescreen, it still looks the same with everything splashed out over the widescreen. Even the wallpaper I use as background looks horrible with a hockey logo totally out of proportion and too big for the screen. If I get a widescreen, there will take a lot of Photoshopping to fix that picture the way I want it.

I hate widescreens! Good for movie and video watching but nothing more and I can actually use the TV screen for movie watching and videos.

But the problem is there and I have to solve it. So I hope if there are any fixes available on this site to solve the problem.

I might have a solution for NHL 2004 but I need to solve the NHL 08 problem too.

Or find a square screen.

Is there an addon installer for NHL 08 to download somewhere?

I have one which I downloaded from the old Breakaway forum many years ago which I can use but it's somewhat incomplete. Some addons I have to use BIGGUI to install and that's NOT a good idea which I discovered this evening.

I managed to solve the problem!

I did a System Restore and then tried the process all over again. This time I managed to access a pop-up window from Avast before it was drowned in all other pop-ups with which I could chose to exclude the app (Jersey Selector) or not. This time I did choose right and the program works as it should again.

I've been playing NHL 08 for a couple of years now and also used the NHL 08 jersey selector to decide which jerseys certain teams should have.
No problems for many years until now when my Avast virus program stops the Jersey Selector from accessing the NHL 08 temp file "because it's used by another program".

Every time I start the Jersey Selector this happens and when it happens a pop-up warning comes up over and over and over and over again. The only chance for me to stop it is to restart the computer.

In other words, it has become impossible to use the Jersey Selector.

Has anyone had the same problem and how do I do to solve it.

Is there another Jersey Selector available instead of this one from 2007 which can be used instead?

Yes please, if you can take a look at it!

Can this toolbox be used for NHL 08 too?
