S11 VHA Entry Draft will take place on Saturday, July 20 - 10h00 EDT

The draft will be held in our #draft-floor room on Discord.

We will conduct 3 rounds of drafting.

This usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours, with occasional breaks.

Make sure have a list ready and come prepared.

GMs will have 60 seconds to make their pick.

Over two full weeks after the NHL draft, this gives everyone plenty of time to schedule accordingly.

This is a major league event and expect everyone to attend.

If you can't attend, you must submit a draft list by 21h00 EDT Friday, July 19.

We will reject lists that simply point at the NHL order.

GMs that do not attend and do not send in their list on time will have their draft pick skipped until the end of the round, where a pick will be made randomly.

Please note that the draft picks for each team and the official order is shown in the spreadsheet.

Supplemental picks order will be determined live on draft day for each round.

Drafting overagers

All NHL drafted players are eligible in VHA on draft day. Additionally, previously drafted or signed players currently not in VHA are also eligible, with the following conditions:

• Must have a NHL contract
• Must not be of UFA age, meaning must be 26 years old or younger on July 1st.
• Must not have been in VHA previously (e.g., Kieffer Bellows, who instead was added to the UFA pool in VHA)

Checking in on teams' backup goalie pace...

Reminder of the rule: Your backup goalie(s) must play a minimum of 900 minutes (or 15 full games) over the course of a 58-game VHA season.

Teams *Still* Shy of Minimum:

So good work PHI, COL and BUF for putting your team back on pace. Any team that remains on this list as of the next randomizer run will have its starting goalie automatically injured for the remainder of the regular season.

In order to counter EA's botched goalie fatigue factor, VHA enforced a backup goalie minimum of 900 minutes played across the league many seasons ago and is still true today.

As we are at roughly the halfway point of the season, this notice serves as an early warning to teams that are currently NOT on pace to meet this mandatory minimum. If you are a GM of one of these teams, it is advised you take immediate action to put your team back on pace to meet the mandatory minimum, otherwise your starting goalie will be at risk of taking an enforced leave from your team for personal reasons. Some of these teams may be CPU teams, so subbers are encouraged to use the backup goalies for those teams in an effort to help them reach the mandatory minimum without the need for enforcement.
