During the season, a player who has missed half a season worth of consecutive NHL games shall be removed from your VHA active roster and will be placed on Long Term Injury Reserve (“LTIR”).
They are not eligible to return until such player has been cleared to return to the NHL.
Such player shall not count toward cap until they are removed from LTIR.
We believe this prevents GMs from being impacted by real life long term NHL injuries and will server as in-season cap relief.
VHA Players on watch to be eligible for LTIR have been listed here (limbo list):
LTIR eligibility begins on day 1 of the regular season and ends at season's end.
A new batch of limbo players will be updated after half a season of NHL games have been played.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions about this.
