  • Here is a head's up on changes that will be in effect NEXT offseason (Season 9).

We're letting you know way in advance so you can prepare accordingly.

    Buyouts

    - the end of yearly automatic free buyouts

    - Buyouts for players with a 2 year term (or more) will be 65% year 1 and 35% year 2

    - Buyouts for players with a 1 year term will be 50% year 1 and 25% year 2

A free buyout can be purchased with 30 sub credits.

A 50% buyout can be purchased with 15 sub credits.

Buyouts cost is the same during the season and offseason.

The existing 50% buyout rule will be valid until the end of this offseason (end of september).

Teams with a remaining free buyout can use it before the trade deadline (some time in february 2022).

    UFA No Trade clause

Starting next summer, all UFA signings for $1M or more get an automatic 1 year No Trade Clause.

All NTCs can be dropped at the trade deadline.

    That is all...

  • More changes to the CBA

    Ajusted playoff bonus amounts

This incentive plan for teams making playoffs was meant to simulate real life revenu awarded to playoffs teams in the NHL. The deeper you go, the more revenu you generate for your franchise, the more cashflow you have for bonuses or buyouts, etc. However, this has created a larger cap boost than anticipated when you consider the impact of salary retentions (more on this below).

We have reduced the amounts by half:

    - Teams playing in Round 1 will received a $1M bonus

    - Teams playing in Round 2 will received a $2M bonus

    - Teams playing in the Conference Finals will received a $3M bonus

    - Teams playing in the VHA Cup Finals will received a $4M bonus

    Salary retention

Teams will be allowed to hold salary on a maximum of 3 players per season.

Additionally, each team will have a maximum of 3 contracts where another GM is holding salary.

Salary retention is only applicable to UFAs, as is currently.

These changes are in effect immediately.

That is all... for now ;)
