Here are a few offseason quick notes:

Trades are officially open. Once your deal is agreed upon, both GMs must send the request by email to the league admins for a panel review before approval/denial.

If you have a trade offer to a CPU team, send your request by email to the league admins for a panel review before approval/denial.

You can also catch one of the admins online on Discord to discuss what you had in mind.

RFAs automatically sign with your team to their NHL amounts. You can follow recent NHL signings on this wonderful website https://www.capfriendly.com/

if you wish to release a pending RFA from your franchise, you can mail your request to the admins.

If the RFA is still unsigned when your mail is received, there will be no penalty or cost.

Subbing has become one of the league"s keys to its success.

Your sub helps your fellow GMs get their game played and in turn, as a token of appreciation, the league compensates you with a small reward in the form of a sub credit.

You sub once, you get a credit. You can turn that credit into draft picks.

Also, when you win your game playing as a sub, your credit is now worth 1.5 credits. Easy peasy.

Here's a list of purchases available with the said credits:

May 25 - S10 Contract buyouts

S10 Contract buyouts

Buyouts for players with a 2 year term (or more) will be 65% year 1 and 35% year 2

Buyouts for players with a 1 year term will be 50% year 1 and 25% year 2

You can use your sub credits to lower the cost:

- a free buyout can be purchased with 30 sub credits

- a 50% buyout can be purchased with 15 sub credits

Buyouts cost is the same during the season and offseason.

If you want to buyout one of your player's contract, send you requests by email to VHA admins.

Sunday July 9 - S10 Live Entry draft Rounds 1 to 3

The draft will be held in our #draft-floor room on Discord.

We will conduct 3 rounds of drafting.

This usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours, with occasional breaks.

VHA's UFA Frenzy is set to begin Sunday July 16 and should wrap up by July 24

Before each round

1) Before submitting offers, check your cap space (link TBD)

The sum total of your offers can never exceed your cap space amount.

Outstanding offers carry over to the next round, and are taken in consideration towards your total.

2) You may have high profile unsigned RFAs to consider

July 27 - S10 LTIR rules clarification

LTIR clarification and ongoing rules

A player who misses 40+ consecutive games in the NHL is subsequently automatically declared unfit to play in VHA.

At this point, he is automatically moved to Long Term Injury Reserve (LTIR) in VHA and 2 things occur:

1) the player is no longer eligible to play in VHA

2) His salary is taken off the salary cap

A player on LTIR can return to VHA when he plays an NHL game following his long term injury.

At which point, the VHA team is required to re-integrate the player in the lineup cap permitting.

There will be several changes coming this upcoming season.

Most of these are straight forward. They are implemented to counter cheap moves and annoyances.

New rules for Season 10

1) All CPU hits anywhere on the ice should be allowed - no give backs. One exception: CPU hits from behind.

2) Expand the allowed hitting area to the entire slot area, not just in front or near the goalie but also between the faceoff circles and to the boards.

Barring any last minute GM additions, this is the outlook for both conferences next season.

Note that conferences are split based on availability for each GM, typically based on if they are living in Europe (available starting at around 14h00 ET) or North America (available starting at around 18h00 ET)
