1 What do I need to create a logo?
You will need the logo itself and a program to edit it. I will explain how it works based on Photoshop.
2 Which files do I need?
You will need two files to edit and import the files besides the graphic program.
arcade618
This program helps you import and export the needed files.
DumpNChase
This will add the graphic to the fsh file
Wasserlasser
This program helps you import the final product into the game and also set all the other values so you can enjoy the logos in the game.
3 Extract the fsh file to add the logo to
- Open BigGui
- Open tlogoapt.viv - You can find it where you installed NHL in the "fe" folder
- There are files called LOGO_LRG_XXX.big and LOGO_MED_XXX.big - The XXX stands for the three letters of the team you are editing
- Click on the file you want to extract so it is marked with a blue line and then click export and select a location on your hard drive to save it
- Now open the exported LOGO_LRG_XXX.big or LOGO_MED_XXX.big
- You will see four files in it. LOGO_LRG_XXX.apt, LOGO_LRG_XXX.const, LOGO_LRG_XXX.ebo and LOGO_LRG_XXX.fsh - Of course they would be MED if you opened the MED file
- Click on the fsh file you want to extract so it is marked with a blue line and then click on export and select a location on your hard drive to save it
Now you exported all the files you need to work with.
4 Create your logo
- Pick a logo
- Open Photoshop
- Remove the background
- Make sure the file has a square size
- Save it as PNG so the background stays transparent
5 Import your logo into the fsh, the big and then the game
- Open FshX
- Open the file LOGO_LRG_XXX.fsh you just saved
- Click on Texture - Import and select the logo you created
- Save the file
- Close FshX
- Open bigGUI
- Open LOGO_LRG_XXX.big (the same team as the fsh file!)
- Highlight LOGO_LRG_XXX.fsh and then click import
- Import the file LOGO_LRG_XXX.fsh you created in the previous step
- Click the little R button
- Close bigGUI
- Take the file ending in .big and copy it into the folder where you installed NHL 09
- Open the Toolbox
- Run the Toolbox installer
